Infantry School Mhow Concludes MMG and AGL Course; Naik Chandan Singh Koranga Named Best Student
The Junior Leaders' course on Medium Machine Gun (MMG) and Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) concluded today at The Infantry School in Mhow. This marks the end of an intense training session aimed at boosting the combat skills of upcoming infantry leaders.
The course featured participants from the Indian Army as well as seven junior leaders from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) including Bhutan, Botswana, and the Maldives. This highlights India’s expanding role in defense partnerships and capacity development with allied nations.

Throughout the training, participants received exhaustive instruction on both the tactical and technical use of company support weapon systems. The curriculum emphasized accuracy during live fire, coordination on the battlefield, and weapon utilization in various operational settings, intending to elevate battlefield competence, leadership capabilities, and self-assurance among the trainees.

In recognition of exceptional performance, Naik Chandan Singh Koranga from 9 KUMAON was named the Best Student, while Naik Manoj Kumar Poonia from 28 RAJPUT earned the Second Best Student accolade. Staff Sergeant Vikram Ali of the Maldives was awarded the Best Foreign Student, showcasing the remarkable performance standards of international participants.

The course's successful execution reaffirms the Infantry School’s dedication to nurturing technically skilled and tactically adept leaders from both India and its partner nations, ready to thrive in contemporary combat scenarios.
