Indian Army's Fire & Fury Corps Conducts Medical Camp in Mushkoh Valley under Operation Sadbhavana

A significant outreach aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of remote communities saw the organization of a medical camp in Moradbagh and nearby villages of the Mushkoh Valley, Ladakh. This initiative, conducted under the banner of Operation Sadbhavana, focused mainly on the healthcare needs of women and children living in these isolated and often underserved areas.
The camp provided free medical consultations, essential medicines, and health check-ups to more than 150 patients, including over 120 women. The initiative was particularly crucial for women and children, who typically face limited access to healthcare services due to the challenging terrain and harsh climatic conditions in the high-altitude region. The event not only addressed immediate healthcare needs but also aimed to raise awareness about preventive health practices and the importance of maternal and child health.

Operation Sadbhavana (Goodwill) is a key humanitarian effort by the Indian Army in Ladakh, created to enhance civil-military relations and aid the socio-economic development of remote and border communities. Initiated in the late 1990s, the operation extends beyond traditional military responsibilities to focus on education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, infrastructure development, and community engagement.

Through this initiative, the Army regularly holds medical camps, establishes schools, offers scholarships, and provides vocational training to uplift the local population. These ongoing efforts have significantly improved the quality of life in isolated areas and strengthened the connection between the Indian Army and the people of Ladakh.
The medical camp was organized by the Fire & Fury Corps of the Indian Army, a formation responsible for defending India’s northernmost frontiers in Ladakh, including the sensitive Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Control (LAC). Known for its operations in some of the most inhospitable terrains and extreme altitudes globally, the Fire & Fury Corps plays a critical dual role: protecting the nation’s borders and supporting local communities.

Through initiatives like Operation Sadbhavana, Fire and Fury Corps continues to showcase its unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people it serves, transforming the Army into not only a defender of security but also a beacon of hope, care, and development in the Himalayas.
