CIJW School Vairengte Hosts Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme on Kargil Vijay Diwas
Vairengte, Mizoram, July 26: In observance of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School in Vairengte hosted an extensive Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Outreach Programme. This event was designed to pay tribute to veterans, Veer Naris, and their families, reinforcing the Indian Army's dedication to their welfare.
The programme gathered Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, and active Army personnel for an array of activities that acknowledged the sacrifices and contributions of the veteran community. The event underscored the enduring connection between the Army and those who have served the nation with honor.
A significant aspect of the gathering was an interactive session with the veterans, allowing them to reconnect with the military community and share their experiences. Veer Naris were honored as well, recognizing the profound sacrifices made by the families of soldiers who have lost their lives in service to the nation.
To support the health and well-being of veterans and their families, the CIJW School arranged a medical camp and dental check-up during the event. This initiative ensured access to vital healthcare services, reiterating the Army’s ongoing support for its former members beyond their active duty.
An informative briefing was given by the Officer-in-Charge of the ECHS Polyclinic, Aizawl, detailing the healthcare facilities, medical benefits, and welfare schemes under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). This session helped veterans and their dependants better comprehend the support systems available to them, addressing various inquiries.
Major General Kulvir Singh, Commandant of the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School, spoke to the attendees, expressing profound gratitude to the veterans for their service and significant contributions to the country. He also acknowledged the steadfast support and sacrifices made by their families, emphasizing that their legacy continues to inspire future soldiers.
