Indian Army Unveils Advanced Digital Grievance Portal for Veterans in Lucknow

In a significant development aimed at enhancing veteran welfare, the Indian Army has launched a cutting-edge Single Window Clearance Facility at the Army Medical Corps (AMC) Centre & College in Lucknow. This IT-enabled platform is designed to be a centralized system for addressing grievances of over 100,000 serving personnel, retirees, and veterans associated with the AMC and Army Dental Corps.

The facility was inaugurated by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, Commander of the Central Command, during his visit to the center. Officials have indicated that this system is anticipated to reduce the time taken to process grievances by approximately 40%, thereby enhancing transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in the administration of welfare services.

The AMC Centre & College, which has been operational in its current structure since 1932, serves as a pivotal institution for military medical education. It provides training to officers of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) and personnel from allied foreign countries, equipping them to tackle medical challenges in modern warfare, including counter-insurgency operations.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sengupta evaluated the training and infrastructure and commended the institution for its high standards. He emphasized the Army's dedication to veteran care, stating that the new facility reflects the principles of “Seva, Samarpan, Sankalp” (Service, Dedication, Resolve). This initiative underscores the Army's commitment to empowering soldiers and offering long-term support to veterans.

According to defence officials, this digital model based in Lucknow could potentially be a blueprint for similar implementations across other Army establishments, establishing a standard for veteran-centered administration within the armed forces.
