Indian Army Secures ₹223.95 Crore Contract for Advanced 50 Ton Tank Transporter Trailers

In a significant development for its operational logistics and the government's initiative towards self-reliance in defense, the Indian Army has entered into a contract valued at ₹223.95 crore with M/s Axiscades Aerospace and Technologies Private Limited. This agreement pertains to the procurement of 212 advanced 50 Ton Tank Transporter Trailers and was finalized under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category on August 1, 2025.

The newly acquired trailers are equipped with cutting-edge hydraulic and pneumatic loading ramps, alongside steerable and liftable axles. These technological enhancements facilitate the swift and efficient loading, unloading, and transportation of tanks and other armored vehicles across challenging terrains. Their integration is expected to greatly enhance the mobility and logistical flexibility of frontline units.

Manufactured domestically, these trailers are part of the Indian Army's broader strategy to bolster indigenous defense production. This initiative is projected to create local employment opportunities and foster the development of long-term industrial capabilities within the nation.

This procurement highlights the Indian Army's dedication to maintaining operational readiness while supporting the national objective of a self-sufficient defense sector.
