Indian Army Officer Farzeen Gafoor Missing After Train Journey in Uttar Pradesh

A perplexing situation has emerged with the unexpected disappearance of a young Indian Army officer from Kerala, identified as Farzeen Gafoor. The officer, hailing from Kaniyapoyyoor near Guruvayur and associated with the Army Medical College in Pune, vanished while traveling to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, for a training program.
The family of Gafoor reported to the Guruvayur police that he had boarded the Ramnagar Express from Bandra on July 9. Communication with his family continued until July 10 in the morning, but all contact ceased when his phone was turned off just two stations before the train's arrival in Bareilly. Since then, there has been no trace of him.
In response, his family members, including a brother residing in the UAE, are planning to arrive in Bareilly by Sunday evening to assist in the search efforts. The family has also sought support from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister Suresh Gopi, and their local MLA to expedite the investigation.
A missing person case has been filed by the Guruvayur police, who are collaborating with law enforcement agencies in Uttar Pradesh to locate Gafoor.
Gafoor last visited his family three months ago. His abrupt disappearance has sparked serious concerns regarding his wellbeing, prompting calls for immediate intervention from both military and civilian authorities.
