Indian Army Foils Infiltration Attempt, Neutralises Two Terrorists in Gurez Sector of LoC
Security forces successfully thwarted a significant infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating two terrorists in a joint operation on Wednesday.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army reported that vigilant troops detected suspicious movements near the LoC in Bandipora district. When confronted, the infiltrators began firing indiscriminately, leading to a prompt and effective response from the Army. During the ensuing clash, two terrorists were killed.
The operation was a coordinated effort by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP), based on reliable intelligence about a potential infiltration effort.
“Based on intelligence provided by JKP regarding likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and J&K Police in Gurez Sector. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged the terrorists, who opened fire. The troops responded effectively, neutralising two terrorists. Operation is still in progress,” the Chinar Corps posted on X (formerly Twitter).
