Indian Army Begins Participation in Joint Military Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025 with US in Alaska

An Indian Army unit has set off for Fort Wainwright in Alaska to participate in the 21st edition of the India–United States Joint Military Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2025, which is slated to take place from September 1 to 14, 2025.
The Indian forces, selected from a battalion of the Madras Regiment, will conduct joint exercises with soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment "Bobcats" of the Arctic Wolves Brigade Combat Team, 11th Airborne Division of the US Army.
Throughout the two-week exercise, both military groups will partake in a comprehensive array of tactical exercises. These include heliborne operations, the deployment of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), rock craft, mountain warfare, casualty evacuation, combat medical support, and the coordinated use of artillery, aviation, and electronic warfare systems.
Experts from both nations will also facilitate working groups focusing on key operational areas such as UAS and counter-UAS operations, information warfare, communications, and logistics.
The exercise will wrap up with coordinated live-fire drills and high-altitude warfare scenarios, emphasizing strengthening interoperability for United Nations peacekeeping missions and improving readiness against multi-domain security threats.
