Indian Air Force Base Repair Depot Achieves Indigenous Overhaul of MiG-29K Ejection Seat System
The Base Repair Depot Nashik, part of the Indian Air Force, has reached a notable milestone in promoting India's self-reliance by completing the indigenous overhaul of the MiG-29K ejection seat system used by the Indian Navy. This procedure was previously conducted in Russia.
The refurbished system was officially handed over to the Indian Navy, with Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, VSM, PhD, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Maintenance Command, in attendance.

This accomplishment significantly enhances India's aerospace maintenance capabilities, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by reducing reliance on foreign original equipment manufacturers for essential aviation components.
The effort also underscores the increasing collaboration between the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy in the domain of advanced aerospace maintenance and sustainment.

Authorities have hailed this development as a crucial advancement towards improving India's defense repair infrastructure and achieving long-term operational independence in military aviation technologies.
