Indian Air Force Announces AFCAT 2 2025 Selection List, Training Begins June 29, 2026
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the Selection List for the Autumn Term Courses 2026, identifying candidates chosen for training at the esteemed Air Force Academy starting on June 29, 2026.
In a notification from Air Headquarters, it was specified that candidates were selected based on branch-specific vacancies, merit order, eligibility conditions, medical fitness, and preferences indicated during the selection process.
The IAF noted that this selection is contingent upon certification of medical fitness by the authorized Armed Forces medical personnel and the submission of all necessary educational and eligibility documents.
Call Letters to Be Issued
The Air Force has stated that joining instructions and call letters are being sent to the selected candidates via Speed Post and email. Additionally, candidates have the option to download the instruction booklet and necessary forms from the official Air Force careers website.
Provision for Candidates Awaiting Final Degree Certificates
To accommodate candidates affected by delays in university results, the IAF has implemented a 'Bond Basis' induction system.
Candidates who have completed examinations but cannot provide proof of their qualifying degree by June 10, 2026, may apply for provisional induction on a Bond Basis.
These candidates will need to submit an additional bond along with a Demand Draft of ₹90,403 payable to the Commandant, Air Force Academy, at Secunderabad. This bond and draft must be personally delivered and submitted upon reporting at the Academy.
Candidates admitted under this provision are expected to present their original or provisional degree certificates and mark sheets by August 27, 2026. Once their eligibility is confirmed, the deposited amount will be fully refunded.
Failure to provide the necessary academic documents by the given deadline will result in termination of training, with the training costs being deducted from the deposited amount.
Reporting Schedule at Air Force Academy
Selected candidates with signed joining instructions are required to report at the Air Force Academy between June 27 and 28, 2026.
Reporting is allowed only between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at the main gate of the Academy. The IAF has stressed that late arrivals will not be permitted under any circumstances.
Candidates are also advised to notify the Academy about their travel and arrival plans in advance and ensure compliance with all joining instructions detailed in the booklet.
Commitment to Transparency
In its release, the Indian Air Force reaffirmed its zero-tolerance approach to corruption, urging candidates not to engage in bribery. It also provided channels for reporting any incidents of corruption or malpractice.
The publication of the Autumn Term 2026 selection list represents a significant step in bringing new officers and personnel into the Indian Air Force, as it continues to bolster its workforce to meet evolving operational and technological demands.
