IAS Officer Trainees Engage in Military Familiarisation Programme with Trishakti Corps in Sikkim

A group of 41 IAS Officer Trainees from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) participated in a week-long Army Life familiarization program with the Trishakti Corps in Sikkim. This initiative was aimed at enhancing military-civil cooperation to bolster national security efforts.

Throughout the attachment, the officer trainees were exposed to the operational environment, challenges, and the lifestyle of soldiers stationed in high-altitude and forward regions. The program was crafted to promote mutual understanding, improve inter-institutional coordination, and sensitize future civil servants to the realities of border management and national security operations.

During their attachment, the officers visited significant historical and operational sites, including Bardang Prernasthal, Nathu La, Baba Harbhajan Singh Shrine, Ganju Lama War Memorial, and Tsomgo Lake. These visits offered them a deeper understanding of the region's strategic importance, military history, and the harsh conditions under which the troops serve.

The interaction provided the trainees with an opportunity to appreciate the ethos, discipline, and resilience of the Indian Army, while also highlighting the crucial need for seamless collaboration between civil administration and the Armed Forces.

This attachment underscored the collective commitment of civil and military institutions to national security, effective governance in border areas, and a coordinated approach to tackling emerging challenges through cooperation and mutual respect.
