IAF Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose Brutally Assaulted in Bengaluru

An Indian Air Force officer, Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose, was assaulted and left bleeding during a violent road rage incident in Bengaluru while he was being driven to the airport by his wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita. The incident occurred near the DRDO colony in CV Raman Nagar and has sparked widespread outrage after the officer shared a video detailing the assault on social media.

In the emotional video, recorded with blood streaming down his face and neck, Wing Commander Bose recounted how a biker stopped their car and began hurling verbal abuse in Kannada. The attacker allegedly targeted the couple after spotting a DRDO sticker on their vehicle.

"A bike came from behind and stopped our car. The guy started abusing me in Kannada. When they saw the DRDO sticker, he said, 'You DRDO people'. He abused my wife and I couldn’t bear it," Bose said in the video. "The moment I got out of the car, he hit me with a key on the forehead. There was blood."

The situation worsened when more bystanders reportedly joined in, and one man allegedly picked up a stone and struck Bose on the head. In a show of composure, the injured officer stood his ground and tried to reason with the crowd.

“I stood there shouting, ‘This is how you treat someone from the Army, Air Force or Navy? We defend you, and this is what we get?’” he said.

Despite the severity of the incident, Bose claimed that their attempt to seek help at a local police station was met with indifference.

“We went to the police station, but there was no response,” he said, expressing deep disappointment over the law enforcement’s apathy. “This is what Karnataka has become. I couldn’t believe the reality. God help us. God give me the strength not to retaliate. But if law and order don’t help us tomorrow, I will retaliate.”

Bose later posted photos of the alleged attacker, first with a helmet and then clearly without it, urging the public to help identify him. He also shared an image of the key used in the attack, along with a photo of his bandaged finger, which he claimed was bitten by the accused during the scuffle.

His online appeal prompted quick action from the police, who tracked down and arrested the suspect. Authorities confirmed that they are in the process of verifying all details and are in contact with Squadron Leader Madhumita, who filed the formal complaint.

The Indian Air Force has not yet released an official statement on the matter, but sources indicate that the officer received medical treatment for his injuries and is being supported by the IAF and civil authorities.

The disturbing incident has reignited conversations around the safety of uniformed personnel in civilian life and the need for stronger legal and social safeguards against such acts of aggression.
