Havaldar Jhantu Ali Shaikh Posthumously Awarded Sena Medal for Valor in J&K Operation

Originating from West Bengal, Havaldar Shaikh sustained fatal injuries while confronting terrorists in a fierce encounter in Udhampur on April 24, 2025. As a member of the esteemed 6 Para (Special Forces), he showcased remarkable commitment and bravery, continuing to battle despite his critical injuries until he eventually succumbed. His actions stand as a testament to the highest ideals of military dedication and national security commitment.

The Sena Medal, a distinguished gallantry award in India, is bestowed upon Indian Army personnel for notable devotion to duty or courage in scenarios not directly involving enemy confrontation, though it frequently recognizes combat valor.
