General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff, inaugurated a cutting-edge 3 Tesla MRI facility at the Army Hospital Research and Referral. This development marks a significant advancement in the diagnostic capabilities available to the medical services of the Armed Forces.

The newly introduced facility is set to significantly enhance diagnostic procedures across various specialisations, including neurology, oncology, cardiology, musculoskeletal imaging, and trauma care. This enhancement aims to improve the healthcare services provided to serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

During the inauguration, General Dwivedi paid tribute to the families of organ donors, honoring their altruistic decision to donate organs amidst personal loss, thus offering patients a chance at renewed life.

In recognition of his notable contributions to the organ transplant program within the Armed Forces medical system, Dr. Subhash Gupta, an esteemed Hepato-biliary and Liver Transplant surgeon, was awarded the COAS Commendation Card.

Promoting the value of “Seva Parmo Dharma,” General Dwivedi urged Armed Forces personnel, veterans, and civilians to commit to organ donation and support initiatives that are critical to saving lives.

The Chief of the Army Staff also praised the efforts of the Armed Forces Organ Retrieval and Transplant Authority (AORTA) for their work in raising awareness about organ donation and enhancing transplant-related healthcare services within the Armed Forces.

Officials highlighted that this inauguration is indicative of the ongoing modernisation of military healthcare infrastructure. It underscores the Armed Forces’ commitment to offering world-class medical care through the integration of advanced technologies and humanitarian efforts.
