General Upendra Dwivedi Evaluates Readiness and Cooperation at Assam Rifles HQ in North-East
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), conducted a visit to the Headquarters of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) to evaluate the operational preparedness, combat readiness, and overall effectiveness of the forces stationed in the North-East region.
During his visit, General Dwivedi received a briefing on the operational capabilities of Assam Rifles formations, the ongoing initiatives for technology integration, coordination efforts with other security agencies, and various nation-building programs being jointly executed by Spear Corps and IGAR (East).
The briefing underscored efforts to bolster operational effectiveness, enhance surveillance, and utilize modern technology to address the evolving security challenges in the area. Discussions also emphasized inter-agency cooperation and initiatives that contribute to stability, development, and community engagement throughout the North-East.

General Dwivedi assessed the readiness of troops operating in the challenging and complex terrain, evaluating the measures taken to maintain a high state of readiness. He expressed appreciation for the professionalism, operational excellence, and combat preparedness demonstrated by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles personnel.
While interacting with officers and troops, the COAS praised their unwavering dedication, commitment to duty, and exemplary service under challenging operational conditions. He commended their efforts in maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region while safeguarding national interests.
In recognition of outstanding performance and distinguished service, General Dwivedi presented COAS Commendation Cards to selected personnel. These awards acknowledged their professionalism, devotion to duty, and significant contributions to operational effectiveness.
The Army Chief stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of operational readiness, technological adaptation, and seamless coordination among security agencies to effectively counter emerging threats and challenges.
