General Dhiraj Seth Evaluates Security and Combat Readiness in Jammu and Kashmir's Chinar Corps

General Dhiraj Seth, the Chief of Army Staff, recently visited the Headquarters of the Chinar Corps along with its associated formations in Jammu and Kashmir. The visit was aimed at assessing the current security conditions, operational readiness, and combat preparedness both along the Line of Control and in the broader region.

This visit holds particular significance as security forces are actively working to uphold a robust security framework throughout Kashmir. Key areas of focus include counter-terrorism operations, maintaining vigilance along borders, and ensuring the safe passage of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra. The Chinar Corps, based in Srinagar, is central to maintaining operational readiness and security stability both in the Kashmir Valley and along critical sections of the Line of Control.

During his visit, General Seth received a detailed briefing on the present operational deployments and counter-terrorism activities. The briefing also covered inter-agency cooperation, evolving operational dynamics, and the security measures implemented for the Shri Amarnath Yatra. It addressed the preparedness of formations stationed in both forward zones and the hinterland, where security forces face complex and fluid scenarios.

The Army Chief also evaluated strategies related to the integration of technology, the enhancement of capabilities, and comprehensive combat readiness across the entire range of operations. These efforts are directed towards bolstering surveillance capabilities, improving operational responses, enhancing situational awareness, and assuring that troops are equipped to address emerging security challenges.

Reviewing operational readiness along the Line of Control is crucial due to the constant need for vigilance against infiltration attempts, sensitivities surrounding ceasefire agreements, and evolving threat patterns. In the hinterland, emphasis remains on sustained counter-terrorism efforts, intelligence-driven operations, and close collaboration among the Army, police, paramilitary forces, and civil authorities.

The ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra has introduced an additional layer of security responsibility for formations in the area. The Army Chief was informed about the security framework established to support the pilgrimage, which includes inter-agency cooperation to ensure the safety of pilgrims, routes, and critical locations.

In interacting with the troops, General Dhiraj Seth praised their outstanding professionalism and unwavering dedication while operating under challenging circumstances. He recognized their persistent efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The Chief of Army Staff also acknowledged the commitment of personnel working in difficult terrains and operationally sensitive areas. He emphasized the importance of continued vigilance, mission readiness, and synergy among all stakeholders to effectively respond to the changing security landscape.

The visit underscored the Army’s commitment to high combat readiness, operational efficiency, and the enhancement of capabilities through technology in Jammu and Kashmir. It also highlighted the significance of integrated operations in ensuring peace, stability, and security both along the Line of Control and throughout the hinterland.

General Dhiraj Seth’s visit to the Chinar Corps signifies the Army leadership’s ongoing focus on preparedness in forward areas, counter-terrorism effectiveness, inter-agency collaboration, and troop morale in one of India’s most sensitive operational theaters.
