The visit gave RIMC cadets an opportunity to interact directly with Dhanoa, who shared experiences from his long career in uniform and spoke about leadership at the highest levels of the Armed Forces. For the cadets, the interaction offered a rare chance to hear first-hand lessons drawn from his operational service and years in command.
Addressing the cadets, Dhanoa stressed the need for professionalism, courage, humility and a steadfast commitment to military values. He urged them to build the confidence to take calculated risks, make informed decisions and act with integrity as they prepare for future responsibilities as military leaders.
He also drew on his own experiences to underline the importance of disciplined leadership, sound judgement and adherence to the highest standards of military ethos. He encouraged the cadets to pursue excellence in all aspects of training and remain committed to service of the nation.

Dhanoa served as the 25th Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force from December 31, 2016, to September 30, 2019. A highly decorated fighter pilot, he held a significant leadership role during several important developments in India’s air defence and military operations.

The return to RIMC carried added significance for the college, which is known for producing generations of military leaders who have gone on to serve the country with distinction. Dhanoa’s presence highlighted the continuing bond between the institution and its alumni, many of whom carry its legacy into senior service appointments.

The interaction left a strong impression on the cadets, who were encouraged to uphold RIMC’s traditions of courage, discipline and dedicated service to the nation while preparing for careers in the Armed Forces.
