Explosive Ordnance Operation and Training Conference 2025 Concludes Successfully at CME Pune
The Explosive Ordnance Operation and Training Conference 2025 was held at the College of Military Engineering in Pune on October 27 and 28, 2025. This two-day event gathered key figures from the Indian Armed Forces, law enforcement, industry, and academia to discuss the current challenges and opportunities in explosive ordnance operations.
Focus on Jointness and Technological Innovation
The conference saw active participation from Commanding Officers of Counter Explosive Disposal Units, officers from the Combat Engineers Directorate, and members of the Explosive Detection & Disposal Wing. Also present were representatives from the National Security Guard and experts from the defense industry and research institutions. The discussions focused on the changing landscape of Improvised Explosive Device threats, highlighting the necessity for joint efforts, technological advancement, and the development of indigenous capabilities to improve counter-explosive operations.

Harnessing Emerging Technologies
Experts and speakers explored the integration of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, autonomous platforms, and sensor fusion, to transform the detection, neutralization, and disposal of explosive ordnance. Towards a Unified EOD Policy
The conference concluded with a call for enhanced inter-agency collaboration and the development of a unified Explosive Ordnance Disposal policy. This policy aims to synchronize procedures and technologies across various services and security agencies.
