DGEME Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni Evaluates Kharga Corps' Technological Advancements and Operational Readiness

Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, AVSM, VSM, PhD, who serves as the Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DGEME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, recently visited the Kharga Corps to assess its current progress in areas such as operational readiness, technological advancements, and equipment maintenance.

During his visit, Lt Gen Sahni received a detailed briefing on the Corps' strategies to improve combat preparedness through advanced maintenance techniques and the use of indigenous technological innovations. A significant focus was placed on the Kharga Corps Drone Hub, where troops presented their advancements in the design, development, and construction of drones, showcasing the Corps’ enhanced capability to incorporate unmanned systems into their operational frameworks.

The DGEME praised the technical skills and commitment of the EME personnel for their role in bolstering self-sufficiency and operational effectiveness. He acknowledged the Corps' persistent dedication to innovation, indigenization, and digital transformation, highlighting its alignment with the Army's broader objective of achieving technological self-reliance as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Lt Gen Sahni stressed the necessity of ongoing adaptation to new battlefield technologies, reiterating the importance of the EME's responsibility to maintain, modernize, and innovate for the Indian Army's operational achievements.
