DG BSF Praveen Kumar Visits Punjab Frontier, Emphasizing Drone Threats and Border Preparedness
Praveen Kumar, the Director General of the Border Security Force, conducted a two-day inspection of the Punjab Frontier on April 11 and 12, 2026, to assess the operational readiness and engage with the commanders and troops stationed at the border.

During his visit, the Director General examined the BSF Artillery Headquarters and Training Centre located in Faridkot, as well as the Drone Forensic Laboratory in Amritsar. He underscored the importance of utilizing technology-driven surveillance and enhancing counter-drone tactics to strengthen border security.
Kumar encouraged the field units to remain responsive to new threats, particularly highlighting the increasing use of drones for unlawful cross-border activities.

He also engaged directly with the troops, assessing the operational difficulties they face and stressing the necessity for vigilance, coordination, and innovation in maintaining the integrity of India's borders.
In addition to operational meetings, the Director General participated in the celebrated Retreat Ceremony at Attari, a representation of India's military heritage and discipline on the international frontier.

Praveen Kumar lauded the BSF personnel for their professionalism, commitment, and unwavering vigilance, recognizing their pivotal role in defending the nation across this sensitive border area.
The visit highlighted the BSF's ongoing commitment to modernization, technological advancement, and maintaining a high state of operational readiness to address emerging security threats.
