Delhi Police Help CDS Aspirant Reach Correct Exam Centre With One Minute to Spare
A Delhi Police team helped a Combined Defence Services (CDS) aspirant reach his examination centre in time after he mistakenly turned up at the wrong venue in New Delhi on September 13, 2026, allowing him to take the test with just one minute to spare.
The last-minute intervention came from SHO North Avenue Ramesh Kumar and personnel from Police Station North Avenue, who were alerted when the candidate found himself at the wrong centre only three minutes before the deadline to enter the examination hall.
According to the account, the police team immediately assessed the urgency of the situation and escorted the aspirant to his correct venue, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kali Badi, New Delhi. The quick response proved decisive, as the candidate reached the centre with just a minute left and was able to go in and sit for the CDS examination.
The incident drew attention to how a few minutes can determine whether months of preparation are put to use or lost to a simple error in locating an examination centre. In this case, the police intervention ensured that the aspirant did not miss the opportunity to appear for the CDS exam because of the mistake.
Delhi Police later appreciated the North Avenue Police Station team, citing their presence of mind, swift response and citizen-first approach in handling the situation.
What could easily have ended in disappointment for the aspirant instead became an example of prompt public service, with the police team’s quick action making the difference between missing the paper and getting inside the centre just in time.
