Deepali Masirkar Appointed ONGC Executive Director (Security), Deputation Curtailment Approved

New Delhi, October 22, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms. Deepali Masirkar, an IPS officer of the Nagaland cadre from the 2008 batch, as Executive Director (Security) at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on October 21, 2026, Ms. Masirkar will serve in the post for a combined tenure of seven years, up to May 3, 2029, from the date she assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. She will draw pay at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix. She will succeed Baljit Singh, IPS (Jharkhand:1996), in the role.

The approval also entails curtailment of her central deputation tenure as Director in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, a post she has held since January 2025. Ms. Masirkar had moved on central deputation earlier, joining as Director in the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, on May 3, 2022, for a five-year tenure.

Ms. Masirkar’s appointment comes after she was recently empanelled for the rank of Inspector General at the Centre. With experience in both her cadre and on central deputation, she now moves into a senior security management assignment at ONGC, one of India’s key public sector energy companies.

The official order says the appointment will take effect from the date she assumes charge.
