CRPF Jawan Killed in IED Blast During Anti-Maoist Operation in Sundargarh, Odisha

In a tragic event during an anti-Maoist operation, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier, Satyaban Kumar Singh, died as a result of an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in a forested region of Odisha's Sundargarh district. The 34-year-old was a member of the 134 Battalion and had been engaged in a combing operation alongside the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Odisha Police.

The explosion occurred while the joint forces were performing a routine security sweep in an area suspected to have Maoist influence. Singh suffered severe injuries to his left leg and was in critical condition. He was promptly transported to a hospital in Rourkela; however, he succumbed to his injuries despite receiving medical care.
