Commander Ronie Chowpoo Leads INS Khanjar at Kumaon and Naga Regiments Conference
Ranikhet, October 28, 2025 — Commander Ronie Chowpoo, who leads INS Khanjar, participated in the 37th Biennial Battalion Commanders’ Conference of the Kumaon and Naga Regiments. This significant event took place from October 27 to 28, 2025, at the Kumaon Regimental Centre in Ranikhet. The involvement of the Eastern Naval Command’s frontline ship highlighted the strong relationship and cooperative spirit between the Indian Navy and the Indian Army.
Naval Presence at a Historic Regimental Event
INS Khanjar, a vessel of the Eastern Sword (Sunrise Fleet), is proudly affiliated with the Kumaon Regiment, Naga Regiment, and Kumaon Scouts. These are highly decorated and experienced infantry formations within the Indian Army. Commander Ronie Chowpoo's attendance, along with his team, signified the Navy’s respect toward its regimental counterparts and reinforced the unity among the armed forces.
