Command Hospital Chandimandir Achieves Milestone with First Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant

Command Hospital Chandimandir has reached a significant medical milestone by successfully completing its first Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant for a patient suffering from Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

The advanced medical procedure involved the crucial step of stem cell cryopreservation, which was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine at PGIMER. This underscores the hospital's partnership with leading medical institutions.

Since the opening of its modern Hematology Centre on May 10, 2025, inaugurated by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Army Commander Western Command, the hospital has made significant strides in enhancing its capabilities in cancer treatment.

The hospital boasts a track record of successful transplants, having completed:

Four Bone Marrow Transplants for Multiple Myeloma
One transplant for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

This accomplishment highlights the Armed Forces Medical Services’ dedication to providing world-class, cutting-edge healthcare services to service members, veterans, and their families.

The development represents a significant advancement in specialised oncology treatment within the military healthcare system.
