College of Military Engineering Awards Diplomas to 159 Graduates in Pune Ceremony

The College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune held a scroll presentation ceremony on July 10, 2025, where 159 students graduated from Diploma courses in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. The event also recognized six international students from Lesotho, Mauritius, Nepal, and Senegal, underscoring CME's expanding influence in global military education.
Major General Gaurav Kaushal, Deputy Commandant and Dean of CME, addressed the graduates with a speech that highlighted the importance of technical expertise and professionalism in military engineering. He urged them to uphold the values of integrity, innovation, and responsibility, reflecting the institution's dedication to excellence.
A notable aspect of the ceremony was the display of student projects, showcasing the students' practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative approaches to engineering challenges. These projects are integral to CME’s curriculum and highlight the rigorous training offered at the institute. CME is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), having received an 'A' grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Established in 1943 as a training school in Roorkee before its relocation to Pune, CME has become a leading center for technical and tactical education for the Indian Army’s Corps of Engineers. The institution came under full Indian command in 1932, prior to its move to Pune, and has played a crucial role in advancing military infrastructure and combat engineering in India.
The inclusion of international students highlights CME's growing global presence and its role in fostering military cooperation and knowledge exchange. The scroll presentation concluded with a sense of pride and purpose, as the graduates are now poised to contribute to military operations and infrastructure projects both nationally and internationally.
