CIJWS Course Concludes with Lt Aryan Shahi and Naik Abhishek Honored as Best Students
The Low Intensity Conflict Operations Course at the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) in Vairengte concluded on March 18, 2026. This event marked a significant achievement in the realm of advanced counter-insurgency training.

The course included participation from Indian Army Officers and Junior Leaders, as well as trainees from several Friendly Foreign Countries. Participants hailed from the Republic of Korea, Namibia, Kenya, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Madagascar, reflecting strong international military collaboration.

During the closing address, Major General Kulvir Singh, SM, Commandant of CIJWS, highlighted the significance of understanding terrorism dynamics. He focused on the integral roles of intelligence and situational awareness, and underscored the necessity for military-civil cooperation in complex operational scenarios.
He also addressed emerging technological challenges and the critical importance of ethical and responsible leadership within modern warfare contexts.

Recognition was given to outstanding participants of the course. Lt Aryan Shahi from the Madras Regiment was named the Best Student in the Officers' category. Naik Abhishek from the Rajputana Rifles earned the title of Best Student in the JCO/NCO category.
The course emphasized the Indian Army's commitment to cultivating highly skilled, adaptable, and globally integrated forces prepared to address low-intensity conflicts and counter-insurgency challenges.
