Chief of Army Staff Bestows 'Veteran Achievers Award' at New Delhi Seminar

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, has paid tribute to three veterans for their commendable service beyond their military careers by awarding them the Veteran Achievers Award at the Retiring Officers Seminar in New Delhi.
This award acknowledges the significant contributions of veterans who have continued to serve societal, educational, and community causes, upholding the principle of selfless service.
Among the honorees, Brigadier Kuldip Singh Gulia (Retd) received recognition for his diverse accomplishments. Following his military service, he has led schools in Haryana, authored three books, edited two encyclopaedias, and embarked on challenging treks, including a 114-kilometer journey in honor of Infantry Day 2024. His post-retirement pursuits reflect his dedication to the nation and the spirit of soldiering.

Colonel Avdhesh Kumar (Retd) was acknowledged for his advocacy of physical fitness and wellness. As a Certified Master Instructor in Chi-Running/Walking, he has delivered 65 lectures and 85 workshops to over 13,200 participants at leading training institutions, significantly contributing to the promotion of fitness, injury prevention, and overall health among military personnel and their families.

Subedar & Honorary Captain Ravinder Singh Yadav (Retd) was honored for his exceptional community service in Kyampur Chhavni, Gazipur District. By initiating and funding a bridge over the Maghai River, he facilitated safe access to schools, healthcare, and essential services for 50 villages and more than 70,000 people, demonstrating his lasting dedication to public service.

The acknowledgment of these veterans highlights not only their achievements but also the Indian Army's profound respect and appreciation for its retired members, whose contributions continue to motivate society and fortify the connection between the Army and the community.
