CDS General NS Raja Subramani Assesses SWAC's Operational Capability and Inspects C-295 Aircraft Production in Vadodara

General NS Raja Subramani, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), paid a visit to the Headquarters of the South Western Air Command (SWAC) to evaluate the operational readiness and ongoing efforts to sustain a high level of operational capability within the command.

Throughout his visit, General Subramani was briefed on the command's operational duties, force readiness, and initiatives aimed at enhancing capabilities. These measures are part of ensuring preparedness in face of emerging security challenges. He assessed various elements of operational planning and readiness that bolster the Indian Air Force's response capabilities across its designated areas.

General Subramani interacted with senior commanders and personnel, commending their dedication to maintaining high operational standards and mission efficiency. The review highlighted the necessity of maintaining preparedness, embracing technological advancements, and achieving professional excellence to protect national security.

In addition to his visit to SWAC, the CDS also toured the Airbus C-295 Final Assembly Line at Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) in Vadodara to assess current programmes related to capability development and indigenous defence manufacturing.

This visit offered a chance to evaluate the progress of the C-295 transport aircraft programme, a significant project designed to bolster India's aerospace manufacturing landscape through technology transfer, industrial partnerships, and local production.

Officials briefed the CDS on the ongoing manufacturing activities, efforts to enhance capabilities, and future plans for the programme. The discussions emphasized boosting defence production, enhancing self-reliance, and expanding indigenous aerospace capacities.

General Subramani also explored broader initiatives aligned with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, underlining the significance of indigenous defence manufacturing in fortifying military preparedness and strategic independence over the long term.
