CDS General Chauhan Highlights National Unity in Warfare, Emphasizes Role Beyond Armed Forces

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasized on Monday that warfare involves not just the military but the entire nation, underscoring the collaborative efforts of political figures, diplomats, and soldiers in protecting India's sovereignty.
During the 128th Foundation Day celebrations at Scindia School in Gwalior, General Chauhan discussed Operation Sindoor, which took place in May. He described the operation as pivotal, introducing a novel approach to decision-making and timing in warfare.
General Chauhan highlighted the successful precision air strikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which showcased India's advancing military prowess and strategic assurance. He stated, "After Operation Sindoor, a new normal has emerged — talks and terrorism cannot go hand in hand. The country cannot tolerate even the threat of a nuclear attack."
His comments emphasized India's increasing confidence in safeguarding its national interests and the critical need for solidarity among the government, armed forces, and the public during conflicts.
The event at the historic Gwalior Fort was graced by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and school alumni and parents.
