CDS General Anil Chauhan Reviews Capability Advancements at Trishakti Corps
On September 18, 2025, General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, conducted a visit to the Trishakti Corps at Sukhna Military Station. The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of various capability development projects, highlighting the Indian Army’s dedication to boosting operational readiness amidst the declared "Year of Reforms" in 2025.
During his visit, General Chauhan was informed by the General Officer Commanding of the Trishakti Corps regarding the unit's operational preparedness and the innovative efforts being implemented as part of the ongoing reform initiatives.
General Chauhan praised the corps for its exceptional performance, particularly acknowledging their significant contributions to national security in the crucial northeastern area. He also took the opportunity to honor outstanding personnel, recognizing their commitment and service.
The occasion included a comprehensive evaluation of the capability development projects, which align with the larger objectives of modernizing the Indian Armed Forces.
Located in Sukna, Siliguri, North Bengal, the Trishakti Corps has played a crucial role in India's defense strategy since its re-establishment in 1960. This visit is set against the backdrop of an intensified military focus following the border conflicts between China and India during 2020-2021, which led to substantial infrastructure enhancements and troop deployments along the Line of Actual Control.
General Chauhan was appointed as CDS in September 2022, following the tragic passing of General Bipin Rawat. With his extensive experience as the Eastern Army Commander, he has become a central figure in spearheading military transformations.
