CDS General Anil Chauhan Emphasizes IAF Modernisation and Advancements in Joint Operations at Western Air Command Conference
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan addressed the Western Air Command Commanders’ Conference 2025 in New Delhi, focusing on the theme “विकासशील सक्षम भारतीय वायु सेना”. He emphasized the continuous transformation of the Indian Air Force into a modern, network-enabled, and future-ready force.
General Chauhan pointed out the advancements in the IAF’s capabilities across various domains. He noted that ongoing modernization, improved operational readiness, and the swift integration of indigenous technologies are equipping the air force to tackle emerging security challenges.

He emphasized the increasing strength of indigenous defence manufacturing and the critical role of homegrown platforms within the IAF’s operational framework. These elements are central to India’s pursuit of self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Reaffirming the significance of joint operations, the CDS highlighted that greater synergy among the Army, Navy, and Air Force is essential for bolstering national defense. He mentioned that the transition towards Integrated Theatre Commands is advancing thoughtfully and deliberately, with a focus on operational integration, interoperability, and a unified strategic vision.

General Chauhan praised the professionalism and dedication of the air warriors, stating that their commitment continues to secure India's skies and safeguard national interests amidst a changing geopolitical landscape.
