CDS General Anil Chauhan Assesses Advancements in Construction of Mehram Nagar's HQ IDS Complex
General Anil Chauhan, who serves as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), assessed the ongoing construction at the new Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) complex located in Mehram Nagar, New Delhi.
In celebration of the Silver Jubilee Year of HQ IDS, senior officials joined in a tree plantation initiative during the visit. General Chauhan marked the occasion by planting a "Sindoor" tree, which represents growth, resilience, and continuity.
General Chauhan also took the opportunity to interact with the construction workers, showing concern for their well-being and commending their efforts in establishing a critical national defence institution.

The CDS held discussions with staff members of the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, highlighting the importance of the new facility in enhancing organisational unity, integrated operations, and the efficiency of the Armed Forces.
According to officials, the new HQ IDS complex aims to consolidate the organisation under one roof, thus offering greater permanency, stability, and a more robust institutional framework for integrated defence management and joint military planning.
The project underscores the Indian Armed Forces' ongoing commitment to joint operations, integrated capability development, and the establishment of modern institutional infrastructure to address future military needs.
