BSF Initiates Enhanced Security Measures with 'Operation Alert' on Pakistan Border

The Border Security Force (BSF) has initiated a week-long initiative known as "Operation Alert" along the western frontier with Pakistan. This operation, which commenced today, is focused on enhancing surveillance and security due to escalating threats, infiltration attempts, and drone-related smuggling. The exercise is set to continue until August 17.
BSF Inspector General M. L. Garg indicated that the operation is strategically scheduled before Independence Day to maintain uninterrupted vigilance. He emphasized, "We will maintain close scrutiny of all cross-border activities. Additional security checkpoints have been established, and patrolling efforts—both on camels and on foot—have been intensified. The border is under constant 24/7 observation to thwart any undesirable actions."
Deputy Inspector General Yogendra Singh Rathore confirmed the deployment of extra troops to support the operation. He assured, "This initiative is critical in ensuring there are no disruptions ahead of August 15. Our commitment is to prevent any infiltration, smuggling attempts, or harmful acts from anti-national elements."
The security enhancements involve increased patrols, the deployment of advanced surveillance technology, and rapid response teams, all aimed at reinforcing the defense framework along this sensitive border area.
