Bharatpur Honors Fallen Air Force Jawan Saurabh Singh with Full Military Ceremony
The body of Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Saurabh Singh from the Indian Air Force was returned to his birthplace of Belara Kalan in Bharatpur district on June 16. Hundreds of villagers, alongside uniformed personnel, assembled to honor the 23-year-old, who had tragically died from injuries sustained while on duty at the Kumbhirgram Air Force Station in Assam.
Saurabh Singh, born in 2002, hailed from the village of Belara Kalan. He embarked on his career with the Indian Air Force in 2020, fueled by determination and pride, successfully completing the recruitment process. As a Leading Aircraftman, he was stationed at the strategically crucial Kumbhirgram Air Force Station.
Just weeks before the unfortunate incident, Saurabh celebrated a significant personal milestone—his marriage on May 5, 2025. He returned to his duties at Kumbhirgram on May 22, after spending time with his family.
The family received devastating news on June 14 that Saurabh had sustained severe injuries while on duty and was hospitalized at a top military facility. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
When his remains were brought back to Belara Kalan on June 16, the village was filled with an atmosphere of mourning and pride. Air Force personnel provided a guard of honor, and local residents joined the procession to pay their respects to the young soldier who dedicated his life in service to the nation.
The Indian Air Force, along with local authorities, offered condolences to Saurabh Singh's grieving family. His sacrifice is a poignant reminder of the steadfast dedication of armed forces personnel who serve the nation in both times of peace and conflict.
