Assam Rifles Gives Computers to Two Children’s Homes in Nagaland to Boost Digital Education
Tuensang, October 17, 2026: Assam Rifles has distributed computer sets to two children’s homes in Tuensang district of Nagaland as part of a community welfare effort aimed at expanding access to digital education and improving computer literacy among underprivileged children.
The computer sets were handed over to Kohdi Children Home and Bethel Home Orphanage during visits by Assam Rifles personnel to the institutions. The equipment was provided in response to requests received from the homes, the force said.
The initiative is intended to strengthen the learning environment at both institutions by giving children greater access to computers and helping them build basic digital skills. With computers now central to education, communication and many forms of employment, the availability of such equipment is expected to open up digital learning resources for students who may otherwise have limited access to them.
Assam Rifles said the distribution would support computer-based learning activities and help children become familiar with modern digital tools. For children in care homes and orphanages, access to computers can also create opportunities to develop skills that may be useful in their academic and professional futures.

The force said the initiative also reflects its wider role in civic action and community development across the northeastern region. Beyond its primary responsibilities of maintaining security and assisting in border management, Assam Rifles has regularly undertaken programmes aimed at supporting education, healthcare and local communities.
Through such efforts, the force said it seeks to encourage educational opportunities, support disadvantaged sections of society and contribute to long-term development in remote areas.

The assistance to Kohdi Children Home and Bethel Home Orphanage comes against the backdrop of growing emphasis on digital learning in education. By placing computers in these institutions, Assam Rifles aims to help children from different backgrounds gain exposure to essential digital tools and learning methods.
Assam Rifles said the effort is part of its continuing commitment to community welfare and to supporting a more digitally empowered and educated younger generation in Nagaland.
