Assam Rifles Enhances Community Engagement with Youth and Peace Efforts in Manipur
Imphal, July 23, 2026: The Assam Rifles has been actively engaging with communities in Manipur through interaction programmes conducted in the Chandel and Tengnoupal districts. These efforts are part of the Force's commitment to fostering peace, mutual trust, and socio-economic growth in the area.
On July 20, 2026, Assam Rifles personnel visited Khengjang village in Chandel District, engaging with students from Stella Maris School and local residents. The focus of this engagement was to inspire young individuals to prioritize education, maintain discipline, and contribute to national development.
During the visit, troops encouraged the students to cultivate leadership skills, adopt positive values, and strive to become responsible citizens. Additionally, Assam Rifles held a coordination meeting on July 22, 2026, at Moreh in Tengnoupal District, bringing together representatives from various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). This meeting provided a platform for discussing regional peace, security, and economic development.
The discussions focused on the current security situation in the border area, strategies for maintaining peace and stability, and efforts to revive trade between Moreh in India and Tamu in Myanmar.
