Assam Rifles and DRI Seize ₹19 Crore in Gold and Cash in Tripura Operation

A significant breakthrough against organized smuggling rings was achieved when Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, executed a successful joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Agartala, Tripura.

In the course of the operation, security forces seized about 14 kg of gold biscuits, with an estimated value of ₹19 crore, alongside Indian currency amounting to ₹2.87 crore. This action was the result of coordinated intelligence efforts aimed at suppressing cross-border smuggling and illegal financial activities in the area.

Authorities stated that the confiscated gold and cash have been officially turned over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further investigation and legal action. This operation underscores the effective inter-agency collaboration and the ongoing commitment of security forces to disrupt smuggling operations in the Northeast.

The Assam Rifles reiterated its dedication to ensuring security, preventing economic crimes, and assisting civil authorities in protecting national interests.
