ASC Mountaineering Team Achieves Feat by Summiting Mt Kang Yatse II, Demonstrating Military Endurance and Courage
The Army Service Corps (ASC) Mountaineering Team was honored and officially welcomed back following their successful ascent of Mt Kang Yatse II, which rises to 6,250 meters, marking a notable achievement in the realms of adventure sports and military endurance.
The team was recognized by Lieutenant General Mukesh Chadha, AVSM, SM, VSM, who serves as the Director General Supplies and Transport (DGST) and Senior Colonel Commandant of the ASC. The flag-in ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Ajay Ramdev, SM, who is Colonel Commandant ASC, President Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), and Director General Integrated Training.

The trailblazing expedition team consisted of four officers and eight jawans, including a female officer, who successfully tackled the formidable Himalayan peak. Their achievement showcased remarkable courage, determination, and teamwork in the face of challenging high-altitude conditions.
The expedition, conducted under the Northern Command's auspices, was part of the 12th ASC Reunion celebrations and demonstrated the Corps' dedication to excellence, adventure, and physical endurance.

Located in the challenging terrain of Ladakh, Mt Kang Yatse II is considered a significant trekking peak in the area, offering mountaineers formidable weather conditions, difficult terrain, and high-altitude challenges.
Senior officers commended the team for their meticulous planning, professional execution, and steadfast determination in successfully completing the expedition. The accomplishment was praised as a testament to the Indian Army's focus on leadership, resilience, and striving for excellence beyond traditional military roles.
The expedition's success also emphasized the increasing involvement of women officers in challenging adventure activities, highlighting the Army's commitment to promoting an inclusive and progressive environment.
