Army Chief Honors Athletes at 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi

The Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, graced the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. During his visit, he honored and awarded medals to athletes who delivered remarkable performances.

The 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, being hosted from September 27 to October 5, marks the 12th iteration of the event and is the largest Para sport gathering ever held in India. This championship has attracted over 1,000 athletes worldwide, competing across 186 medal events. These include 101 events for men, 84 for women, and one mixed event, surpassing the participation seen in the previous edition in Kobe, Japan.

General Dwivedi had the opportunity to engage with several para athletes during the championship, including those representing the Indian Army. He praised their unwavering spirit, discipline, and perseverance, encouraging them to continue their journey as an inspiration to many through their extraordinary achievements.
