The Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun is set to hold its esteemed Passing Out Parade (POP) on December 13, 2025. This event marks the successful completion of demanding military training for both Indian and international officer cadets. The ceremony will feature Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi as the chief guest, who will also review the parade.

The Passing Out Parade at IMA is a significant occasion, symbolizing the transformation of cadets into commissioned officers. It signifies not only the end of their training but also the beginning of their roles as young leaders in their respective armies for the cadets from India and abroad.

Founded on October 1, 1932, the Indian Military Academy started with an inaugural batch of merely 40 cadets. Over the past 90 years, the institution has expanded its training capacity dramatically, now accommodating 1,660 cadets. This growth highlights its development into a leading military training institution globally.

To date, the academy has trained nearly 66,000 cadets, including approximately 3,000 from allied foreign countries. Graduates of the IMA have distinguished themselves in a variety of fields, maintaining high standards of military leadership and significantly enhancing the prestige of the Indian Army.

The forthcoming parade is anticipated to capture national attention, celebrating the discipline, dedication, and commitment of the newest cohort of military officers.
