Apollo Micro Systems Secures ₹100 Crore Order for Defence Unmanned Aerial Systems
Apollo Micro Systems, headquartered in Hyderabad and specializing in defence and aerospace technology, has won a significant contract valued at ₹100.25 crore for the supply of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This development marks a substantial contribution to India's burgeoning domestic drone industry.
According to a regulatory statement, the order was procured as part of routine business activities from a private entity, with the UAS intended for the Ministry of Defence. The company plans to fulfill this order within four months.
The company's announcement confirmed, "Apollo Micro Systems has received orders totaling ₹1,002.47 million for the supply of Unmanned Aerial Systems to be delivered to the Ministry of Defence," specifying both the contract's financial value and its completion timeline.
Strengthening Indigenous Defence Capabilities
This order highlights the increasing dependence of the Indian military on domestically developed unmanned systems for purposes such as surveillance, reconnaissance, and strategic missions. These systems have become vital in modern military operations, offering enhanced flexibility, immediate intelligence, and minimized personnel risk.

Expansion Plans in Telangana
The company recently revealed its intention to invest ₹1,500 crore in establishing a new defence manufacturing facility in Telangana. This new site will house advanced facilities for producing and filling missile warheads, rocket motors, and artillery ammunition across varying calibres, in addition to comprehensive ammunition systems for rockets and other armaments.
Robust Order Book and Market Performance
As of September 30, 2025 (1HFY26), Apollo Micro Systems reported an order backlog of ₹785 crore, indicating strong demand in the defence and aerospace sectors. The company's shares have surged by over 120% this year, reflecting investor confidence in India's drive for increased domestic defence manufacturing.
The UAS contract aligns with the government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and underscores the growing importance of private enterprises in addressing the operational and technological needs of India's military forces.
