Amit Shah Leads Key Security Strategy Session on Jammu and Kashmir

Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a crucial security review meeting on Thursday, concentrating on Jammu and Kashmir. He instructed security agencies to persist in their counter-terrorism efforts in a "mission mode" to swiftly achieve a terror-free Union Territory.

Shah highlighted the importance of maintaining pressure on terrorist infrastructure and financial networks as vital for sustaining security improvements since the revocation of Article 370. He urged agencies to stay vigilant, coordinate closely, and collaborate effectively to ensure continued stability in the region.

The Home Minister guaranteed the provision of all necessary resources to the security forces to enable them to fulfill their duties efficiently. He praised the agencies for the enhanced security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized the need for ongoing vigilance and proactive operations.

Attendees at the meeting included Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka, the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the Union Territory, along with leaders of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other senior officials.

This review highlights the Centre’s commitment to reinforcing peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir through integrated, intelligence-based counter-terrorism strategies and continued collaboration among agencies.
