On May 13, 2026, Air Marshal S Shrinivas, who serves as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Training Command, visited Air Force Station Sulur to assess its operational readiness and training facilities.

As part of his visit, Air Marshal Shrinivas piloted the HAL Tejas aircraft alongside the “Flying Daggers” squadron. This flight highlighted his confidence in India's domestic combat aviation capabilities and reinforced the Indian Air Force's commitment to maintaining operational preparedness.

In discussions with the aircrew, Air Marshal Shrinivas focused on the vital operational lessons from recent military operations, stressing the importance of adaptability and readiness in the face of changing combat scenarios.

The Air Marshal also inspected the 24 TETTRA School, known as the “Tejas Pioneers,” which acts as a Centre of Excellence in delivering technical expertise on the Tejas aircraft to both aircrew and technical staff.

During his tour, he inaugurated the Training Model Room, which is designed to enhance practical and technical learning through modern teaching methods and experiential learning opportunities.

Engaging with the instructors and personnel at the training center, Air Marshal Shrinivas commended their professionalism and dedication to maintaining high training standards. He highlighted the significance of integrating practical operational experiences with technical knowledge to boost trainees' learning and effectiveness.

The visit underscored the Indian Air Force's dedication to achieving excellence in training, fostering indigenous capability, and ensuring continuous operational readiness.
