AIIMS Raipur NCC Cadets Deepika Palla and Shreya Jahnvi Complete Milestone Flying Training
The NCC cadets from AIIMS Raipur have marked a significant achievement by completing flying training in a twin-seater microlite aircraft, organized by the MP & CG Directorate, advancing experiential learning and national service.
Among the cadets were MBBS students, Cadet Deepika Palla and Cadet Shreya Jahnvi, who successfully undertook their first flying sortie following simulator-based training, representing a notable accomplishment for both the National Cadet Corps and the institute.

The flying programme saw participation from 11 cadets, including MBBS and BSc Nursing students. Noteworthy is the fact that nine participants were women, highlighting NCC's focus on gender inclusivity and equal opportunities within military and related fields.
The cadets were introduced to aviation fundamentals, cockpit procedures, and flight dynamics through rigorous simulator training before piloting the microlite aircraft. This initiative offered them practical exposure to aviation, leadership, and real-time decision-making.
Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd.), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, praised the programme as a historic and transformative initiative. He emphasized that the programme not only fosters national service among future medical professionals but also paves the way for opportunities in aviation medicine, defense services, and comprehensive personal development.

This flying training initiative is aligned with NCC's broader objective of developing disciplined, confident, and service-oriented individuals, while also allowing institutions like AIIMS Raipur to extend learning beyond traditional settings.
This achievement underscores the institute's dedication to innovation, leadership training, and student empowerment, particularly for women, enabling them to explore diverse and challenging fields alongside their medical studies.
