Agniveer Nitin Prajapati: Young Soldier Dies of Heart Attack During Training in Madhya Pradesh

A tragic incident unfolded in Unchagaon village of the Kairana area in Shamli district with the unexpected demise of 25-year-old Agniveer Nitin Prajapati. He collapsed during a training run in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district on Monday morning.

Nitin, who enlisted in the Army four months ago through the Agniveer scheme, was engaged in a routine training session when he unexpectedly lost consciousness and collapsed. Despite swift assistance from his fellow trainees and instructors, medical personnel declared him dead upon examination, attributing the cause to a heart attack.

Funeral in Native Village

On Wednesday morning, Nitin's body was returned to his village, Unchagaon, with full military honors. As the funeral procession reached the village at around 10:30 am, chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Hindustan Zindabad” resounded throughout the area.

Overcome with grief, his family, relatives, and hundreds of villagers gathered to pay tribute to the young soldier who had long aspired to serve his country in uniform.

Family in Mourning, Mother Shows Unwavering Courage

Nitin was the eldest child of Satish Prajapati, a tractor driver, and Preeti, his visually impaired mother who exhibited extraordinary strength during the funeral. Despite her loss, she expressed pride in her son, saying, “My son is a martyr. I cannot live without him, but he gave his life for the nation.” Rather than succumbing to grief, she sought to console others.

He is survived by his parents, a younger brother Shivam, who is in Class 12, and a younger sister. His grandmother, with tearful eyes, reminisced about the sacrifices made to educate Nitin and help him pursue his dream, only for it to be tragically cut short.

A Dream of Serving the Nation

Nitin's relatives shared that he had always dreamed of joining the Army to make his family proud. His cousin, Ankit Prajapati, recounted receiving news of his death from Army officials on Monday morning. “He was full of energy, always talked about serving the country, and had a perpetual smile. His loss is profound for all of us,” he said.

Community Grieves a Hero

The Shamli region is united in mourning. Villagers remember Nitin as a cheerful and driven young man, admired for his humility and patriotism. Although his life was abruptly halted during training, the community asserts that his sacrifice will be eternally cherished as a testament to his bravery and commitment to the nation.
