AFMS Achieves Asia Book of Records Milestone with Largest Hand Sanitisation Exercise at ARMEDiCON 2026

The Pan-AFMS Largest Hand Sanitisation Exercise, held during ARMEDiCON 2026 at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune on February 5, 2026, has achieved a new milestone, earning recognition from the Asia Book of Records.

Surg Vice Adm Arti Sarin, the Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), attended the event as the Chief Guest. The ceremony saw the participation of senior AFMS officials, faculty, nursing officers, personnel, and both medical and nursing cadets from AFMC, demonstrating a collective dedication to advancing public health.

This initiative, a significant feature of ARMEDiCON 2026, highlighted the crucial role of hand hygiene in infection control and patient safety, particularly within healthcare settings and military operations.

The record-breaking event was also held in recognition of the Military Nursing Service's Centenary Year, celebrating 100 years of dedicated service and excellence in military nursing. It honored the generations of nursing staff who have served the Armed Forces with dedication, bravery, and clinical expertise.

This successful event further solidified the AFMS's position as a leader in public health advocacy, medical education, and preventive health care, highlighting its unwavering commitment to innovation, service, and excellence in military healthcare.
