ACC Wing Graduates 73 Cadets at IMA, Wing Cadet Captain Naveen Awarded COAS Gold Medal

A graduation ceremony at Chetwode Hall in Dehradun marked the completion of the three-year academic and military training for 73 cadets of the Army Cadet College (ACC) Wing at the Indian Military Academy. These cadets have now successfully graduated from their programme.

The event was overseen by Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh, Commandant of the IMA, who awarded bachelor's degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University to the newly graduated cadets.

Lt Gen Nagendra Singh commended the cadets on their accomplishments, emphasizing the significance of character, self-discipline, courage, motivation, a positive attitude, and professional competence for a career as an Army officer.

This graduating group is part of the 127th Army Cadet College Course, consisting of 32 science stream cadets and 42 humanities stream cadets. Following their ACC training, these cadets will proceed to the Indian Military Academy in July 2026 for pre-commissioning training before becoming commissioned officers in the Indian Army.

The ceremony also recognized several cadets for their outstanding achievements. Wing Cadet Captain Naveen was honored with the Chief of Army Staff Gold Medal. Company Cadet Captain Avnish Kumar Mishra received the Chief of Army Staff Silver Medal, while Wing Cadet Quartermaster Harshraj was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Bronze Medal.

Additionally, Nubra Company was named the Champion Company of the ACC Wing for its exceptional overall performance.

The Army Cadet College Wing provides a unique platform within the Indian Army, allowing serving soldiers to ascend to commissioned officer status through a blend of advanced education and military leadership training.

The ACC programme is designed to foster the comprehensive development of cadets through a combination of academic coursework, rigorous military training, leadership development, and character-building activities. This training aims to equip future officers with the skills needed for modern military leadership.

This graduation ceremony represents a significant step in the cadets' journeys towards earning their commissions and joining the ranks of officers in the Indian Army.
