Academy Cadet Adjutant (ACA) Peeyush Rautela of Mike Squadron achieved the top position in the Science stream with a B.Sc. in Chemistry at the National Defence Academy's (NDA) 150th Course Convocation Ceremony. Rautela received the esteemed Commandant’s Silver Medal and the COAS Rolling Trophy for his accomplishment.
Securing a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 7.97, Rautela stood out as the leading cadet among his peers in the Science stream. The awards were presented to him at a ceremony graced by Chief Guest Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS (Retd.), the former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
Upon receiving the accolades, ACA Rautela expressed his gratitude towards his family and mentors, attributing his success to their unwavering support and guidance.
“Whatever I have achieved till now is due to the hard work of my parents, sister and the instructors who helped me reach here,” he said.
Rautela also highlighted that he is the pioneer in his family to enter the Armed Forces, adding a layer of significance to his achievement.
“I am the first one in my family to join the defence forces,” he added.
The cadet shared that his aspiration to don the military uniform was nurtured during his time at Sainik School Ghorakhal. The institution's disciplined environment, combined with military-focused training, played a pivotal role in steering him towards a career in the Armed Forces.
Rautela emphasized that the ethos of institutions like Sainik Schools is instrumental in inspiring students to pursue military service and equipping them for the rigors of life at the NDA.
His success not only underscores academic brilliance but also reflects the perseverance and dedication emblematic of the future leaders being cultivated at the NDA.
The NDA's 150th Course Convocation Ceremony saw 236 cadets awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), marking a significant step before their commissioning into the Armed Forces.
ACA Peeyush Rautela’s achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring defence candidates, notably those from non-military backgrounds. It demonstrates how determination, family backing, and effective mentorship can lead to excellence in military service.
