40 NCC Instructors Visit Bareilly’s Junior Leaders Academy Labs, Explore Emerging Battlefield Tech
Forty personnel undergoing the Permanent Instructors Orientation Course of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Bareilly recently visited the Niche Technology Labs at the Junior Leaders Academy, where they were introduced to a range of emerging systems that are increasingly relevant to modern military operations.
The visit was designed to give the trainees first-hand exposure to technologies shaping contemporary warfare and the battlefield of the future. It also offered them a closer look at how innovation, technology-enabled operations and specialised systems are being integrated into military training and planning.

During the interaction, the NCC personnel were taken through several dedicated laboratories at the academy, each focusing on a different aspect of modern military technology. These included the Drone and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Counter-UAS) Lab, the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab, the 3D Terrain Visualisation Lab, the Geo-Spatial Lab and the Future Tech Lab.
The Drone and Counter-UAS Lab offered the visitors an overview of the growing importance of unmanned aerial systems and the technologies used to detect and neutralise them. Drones have become a regular feature of contemporary military operations, making familiarity with both their operational use and countermeasures relevant for those involved in military instruction and training.
At the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab, the personnel were introduced to the ways in which AI and robotic technologies are being explored for military use.
